The faster sponge puts additional pressure on the opponent, making it easier to score points through counter-attacking and hitting. The best compromise between control and disruptive effect is achieved with thinner sponge versions (1.3/1.5/1.8mm), while thicker sponge versions increase speed with a slightly reduced disruptive effect.
The rubber comes with a layer of glue, and additional water-based table tennis glue is recommended for application onto the sponge and blade for optimal performance.
