Tibhar Hybrid K3 review: the tacky tensor the Lebruns use
A grippy Chinese-style topsheet on a fast European sponge

Hybrid K3 mixes a tacky topsheet, the kind you associate with Chinese rubbers, with a tensioned European sponge. Tibhar confirms that both Félix and Alexis Lebrun use it on forehand and backhand.

Figures are manufacturer ratings, cross-checked with a second published source (see the sources below). Brands use different rating scales, so compare numbers within a brand only.

Why 'hybrid'?

Classic tacky rubbers grip the ball strongly but need a lot of your own power. Tensor rubbers have built-in speed but less bite. The K3 aims for both: tack for short game and spin, and a catapult for easy counters. Tibhar rates spin higher than speed, which matches that design.

Its control rating of 100 is high for an OFF+ rubber, which helps explain why it suits a fast, close-to-table style like the Lebruns'.

The K3 family

We also stock K3 Pro and K3 FX. Note that despite some websites saying otherwise, Tibhar's own pages list the Lebruns on standard Hybrid K3.

Who it suits

Intermediate and advanced attackers who want spin on serve and receive without losing speed. A good step for players coming from tacky Chinese rubbers.

Our verdict

One of the most versatile rubbers we sell. Strong recommendation for both forehand and backhand.
