What to expect

Inner fibre (fibre layers placed next to the core) generally gives a softer, more wooden touch than outer carbon. Nittaku describes the H2 as fast and powerful with a soft touch, suited to everything from slow loops to quick, close shots.

Rubbers

Hayata plays DHS Hurricane 3 National on her forehand. Our Hurricane 3 National 39° blue sponge is the same model, though pros' exact hardness is rarely published.

Who it suits

All-round attackers who play close to the table and want control first, with enough speed for finishing shots.

Our verdict

A quality Japanese-made blade that's easier to control than most carbon blades. Excellent for two-winged looping.
