Wang Manyu beats Sun Yingsha 4-2 for Asian Games singles gold
Second Asian Games singles title, eight years after Jakarta

Wang Manyu won the women's singles at the 2026 Asian Games on 27 September, beating Sun Yingsha 4-2 (11-8, 11-9, 11-13, 11-9, 4-11, 15-13) in a final between the world's top two.

Wang came from four points down to win the fourth game and closed out a tense sixth 15-13. It was her second Asian Games singles gold, eight years after Jakarta 2018. Japan's Hina Hayata and Miwa Harimoto took bronze.

Wang also won women's doubles gold with Kuai Man and team gold with China. She carried that form into WTT China Smash two weeks later, where she won both singles and doubles again.

Sun Yingsha, the defending champion, left with silver in singles and mixed doubles (with Wang Chuqin) and gold in the team event.
